Sam likes bringing calm, clarity and confidence to complex infrastructure programmes — especially when things start to feel a bit tangled. He’s motivated by helping teams make good, well-informed decisions through clear, evidence-led planning and practical project controls, and isn’t afraid to challenge optimism bias when plans look a little too optimistic. He’s a big believer in integrated project controls, breaking down silos, and making sure people actually talk to each other. What he enjoys most is building strong, high-performing teams and leaving behind better capability than he found.
Based in the UK, Sam has around 20 years’ experience across highways, rail and underground infrastructure. He’s worked his way from assistant project manager through to senior leadership roles covering programme, portfolio and assurance. Over the years he’s led planning and integrated project controls on multi-billion-pound programmes, helped embed best practice, strengthened governance, and been part of teams delivering award-winning project controls outcomes.
